PRAXIS Preparation Tips
To prepare for the upcoming PPST, the following are suggested:
- Purchase a PPST guide at any bookstore or online to practice sample test questions.
- For the reading comprehension test, read a variety of short, organized passages and discuss passages with a study partner/group. Look for the main ideas, author's attitude, author's purpose, supporting ideas, organization of the passage, fact vs. opinion, and inferences.
- For the math test, continually work on math problems from the various areas of math (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, data interpretation and logic).
Do review problems under timed situations to become familiar with answering questions and solving/calculating problems under actual time constraints.
